José Obial was a swimmer who took part in two swimming events at the 1936 Summer Olympics.
At 22 years old, he finished 4th in heat-six during the first round the 100m Freestyle event with a record of 1:01.7. His team also finished 4th in heat-one first round of the 4 × 200 metres Freestyle Relay with a record of 9:45.8. He failed to qualify for the second round in both events. He remained active in swimming and later became a commissioner for the Philippines Amateur Swimming Association.
