Lauro Mumar represented the country in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, where the Philippine team finished 12th.
He also participated in the 1954 Basketball World Cup winning Bronze, and in the 1951 and 1954 Asian Games where they bagged two gold medals. Mumar later on became the national team head coach of India and the Philippines.
