Ricardo Adolfo was a flyweight boxer who competed in the 1948 London Olympic Games.

He was a punching machine who went head-to head with Pascual Perez of Argentina in the 112-point class for his first and only fight in the Games. Adolfo lost after the referee stopped in the second round. Perez went on to win the gold medal and later on became a World Champion.

Adolfo served as a policeman in Manila for many years and died at the age 88 in his residence in the city. Yet boxing remained his passion. On the side, he took the job as head coach of the Adamson University boxing team that gave some tough times for the archrival Far Eastern University in various competitions from 1969 to 1974.
