Eduardo Decena was a basketball player who competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. A member of the La Salle Green Archers that won the National Collegiate Athletic Association championships in 1947 and was voted the season’s Most Valuable Player. This earned him a spot on the national team for the 1948 Olympics where the Philippines placed 12th out of 23 countries overall. In an exhibition match against the Oakland Bittners following the Games, Decena sustained a knee injury and was forced to retire.
