Kurt Bachmann was a basketball player who competed in the 1960 Summer Olympics. He played basketball at De La Salle University in the Philippines, leading them to the 1956 national collegiate championship. He represented the Philippines at the 1960 Summer Olympics where the Philippine Team placed 11th. He also represented the country at the 1959 FIBA World. Championship and was on the gold medal winning teams at the 1958 and 1962 Asian Games. He also played for YCO Painters and Ysmael Steel Admirals in the MICAA in the late-1950s till the 1960s. His #33 collegiate jersey is one of only four retired by De La Salle.
