Hernando Castelo was a sports shooter who competed at the 1956 Summer Olympics and the 1960 Summer Olympics, 1954 Asian Games and 1962 Asian Games.

At the age of 49, he participated in his first Olympic Games in 1956. He competed in the men’s 50 meters Small-Bore Rifle, Prone and came in 34th place with total points of 592. He competed again in the same event at the 1960 Summer Olympics and placed 52nd with 566 points.

Castelo won the gold in the 300 m rifle 3 positions event at the 1954 Asian Games held in Manila.
