Lorenzo Cortez was a swimmer who competed in two events at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome,Italy. At the age of 20, he competed in his first and only Olympic Games. He clocked 1:08.7 and placed 6th in heat four of the men’s 100m backstroke event, failing to advance to the semifinals. The Philippines placed 15th out of 18 teams in the 4 x 100m Medley Relay.
