Geronimo Dyogi was a judoka who competed in the men's half middleweight event at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Geronimo trained at Tokyo’s Kodokan Institute, established in 1882 by Jigoro Kano, the founder of Judo, and received his first dan (first degree) black belt in Japan at the age of 15.
He competed in his first and only Olympic Games at the age of 23. He defeated Mok Cheuk Wing of Hong Kong, China in the first round and advanced to the quarter-finals where he lost to Gerold Jungwirth of Austria. At the 1954 Asian Games which was hosted in Manila, he won a bronze medal. He subsequently won third place in three Asian Judo Championships held in the Philippines (1966), Taiwan (1970), and South Korea (1974); fifth place and seventh place, respectively, in the World Championships held in Mexico (1969) and Germany (1971).
