Agrippina de la Cruz was a hurdler who competed at the 1984 and 1988 Summer Olympic Games. She was discovered by her school principal and began athletics at age 13. Her first meets locally were in Pangasinan, where she won the 100m and 400m hurdles. At the age of 24, she competed in her first Olympic Games. She placed 7th in heat three of the first round, failing to qualify for the semi finals. She competed again at the 1988 Summer Olympics in the 100m hurdles where she timed 14.36 and placed 6th in heat three of the first round, failing to advance past the heats. Dela Cruz won 3 consecutive SEA Games titles in the 100m hurdles in 1983, 1985, and 1987. She also won two more golds in 1983 and 1985 SEA Games bringing her total to 5 SEA Golds in her career.
