Arianne Cerdeña was a tenpin bowling player who won the first gold medal for the Philippines in the Summer Olympic Games, albeit in a demonstration event, hence the medal won is not counted in the official medal tally.

She won the gold medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea by The multi-awarded kegler’s main claim to fame is winning the women’s masters gold medal at the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympic Games by beating Japanese veteran Atsuko Asai 180-197, 249-211 in the stepladder finals. Cerdeña also captured two silver medals at the World Games in Karlsruhe, West Germany in 1989, in singles and mixed doubles with Jorge Fernandez. She was an Asian Games gold medalist. She was a member of the gold medal Team of Five with Bong Coo, Catalina Solis, Cecilia Gaffud and Rebecca Watanabe. She shared the doubles bronze medal with Bong Coo. Her last tournament was the 2001 Southeast Asian Games where she clinched the gold medal in the doubles event before retiring in the United States to focus on her husband Raymond Valdez and their daughter. She eventually became a registered nurse in a hospital in California. Cerdeña was inducted to the Philippine Sports Hall of Fame in 2021.
