Walter Dean Vargas was a taekwondo practitioner who competed in the men’s flyweight event at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. At the age of 21, he competed in his first and only Olympic Games. He lost to Wang Ming-Sung of Chinese Taipei in the first round, failing to qualify for the semi-finals.
In 1993, he competed in the men’s 58kg at the World Taekwondo Championships and came in 3rd place.
