Juan Carlos Tanpinco Piccio was a swimmer who competed in two events at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

He specialized in long-distance freestyle and in individual medley events. At the 2000 Summer Olympics, he competed in the men’s 1,500m Freestyle event, finishing 1st in heat one. He placed 34th out of 41 overall. In the men’s 400m Individual Medley, he finished 4th in heat two and failed to advance in the finals. He placed 37th out 45 contenders.

In 1995, he made his competitive debut at the Philippine National Games winning a total of seven golds.

Piccio won a total of four medals, one gold, two silvers and one bronze, at the Southeast Asian Games (1999 and 2001). The gold medal was won in the 4 x 200 Freestyle relay at the 21 st SEAG in Hanoi. The relay team was initially disqualified, but the decision was later reversed by FINA. Piccio held numerous age group titles, including seven golds from the Philippine National Games, and more than five Filipino records in long-distance freestyle (400 and 1500m) and in individual medley (400m) during his sporting career.
