Marestella Sunang is a long jumper who participated in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic Games. After the 2012 Olympics in London Marestella gave birth to her first child, yet still managed to make the miraculous comeback in 2016. Earlier in her career, she finished 4th place in the 2002 Asian Championships and has won the silver medal in the 2005 Asian Championships.

In 2009, she won the Asian Championships with a leap of 6.51m.

Her personal best jump of 6.71m was achieved at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Palembang, and is currently the Southeast Asian Games Record.
