Kirk Barbosa was the Philippines' youngest entry in the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore, where he competed in the 48- kilogram division in taekwondo.
The smaller but big-hearted Barbosa lost to eventual gold medalist Gili Haimovitz of Israel.
