Yuka Saso is a Filipino-Japanese golfer from San Ildefonso, Bulacan. She started her professional career debut at only 18 years old in November 2019 after achieving her Ladies Professional Golf Association of Japan Tour Card. She was able to bag a gold medal for the 2020 NEC Karuizawa 72 annual golf tournament in the LGPA Japan Tour and another in the Nitori Ladies Golf Tournament. In June 2021, Saso achieved the title of becoming the first Filipino golfer and the youngest to win in the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open at 19 years, 11 months and 17 days where she won first place. Prior to her major achievements, she was also able to secure a gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games women’s team event together with Bianca Pagdanganan and Lois Kaye Go where she also won the Philippine’s first gold medal in the Asian Games women’s individual event.

Currently ranked 8th in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, Saso also represented the Philippines in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan where she finished 9th place in the women’s individual event. However, as of 2022, Saso chose to officially play for Japan in international golf competitions to follow her decision in keeping her Japanese citizenship as per the Japanese law on dual nationality.
