Elreen Ando is a Filipina weightlifter who made her Olympic debut at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. She was able to secure 7th place in the women’s 64-kg weightlifting event by recording a total of 222kg in the Olympics.

It has been only less than a decade since Ando started her weightlifting career. However, this didn’t stop her from winning medals for the country. She has won two silver and one bronze medal in the Asian Weightlifting Championships. She also managed to bag a silver medal in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. Ando placed fifth at the women’s 59 kg division in the 2021 International Federation World Championships.

Elreen Ando, being the youngest of six siblings from a humble family whose mother passed away when she was three. Then she became an athletic scholar at the University of Cebu and rose through the youth development program of the weightlifting association. She qualified in the Paris 2024 Olympics through her Olympic ranking following the conclusion of the International Weightlifting Federation World Cup. She finished in the women’s 59kg weightlifting division with a total lift of 230kg, narrowly missing the podium.
